Lisa walked down the dark alley. She could smell the blood in the air. Somewhere close was a human that she could feed on.
As she turned the corner, she sensed that there was a human in an abandoned building nearby, on the third floor. She wondered how she was going to get up there. But then she realized that she was a vampire now, so that meant enhanced abilities, or so she thought. Fortunately for her, it turned out that she was right. With just one jump, she was able to easily make it to the third floor ledge. She smashed through the window and sniffed the air to determine where her prey was.
After little searching, she found it. Jason told Lisa and Steve to go after easy prey for their first time hunting. He didn't want to see them get hurt. Lisa obeyed because Jason was the elder, although she felt differently. She didn't want easy prey.
But that's what she had in this abandoned (not so nearly, it seemed) building. A homeless man, who was probably too drunk out of his mind to realize what was happening to him. Just like Jason told her, she bit into the man's arm, not his neck. She wanted to feed on him, not turn him. The taste of the blood was so satisfying and she felt like she was actually getting stronger and more powerful with every new drop of the man's blood.
"Who's there?" a voice cried out suddenly.
Lisa immediately looked in that direction, blood dripping from her mouth. She began to snarl, angry that her meal was interrupted.
The person got closer and aimed a flashlight at Lisa. She, in turn, cried out in pain. It wasn't just a flashlight. It was an ultraviolet flashlight.
From a few buildings over, Steve and Jason heard the screams of their sister and went to her rescue.
The man with the flashlight moved closer and out of the complete darkness. "Vampire," he said. Then he moved closer until he could actually see Lisa without the use of his flashlight. "But none I've ever seen before."
She glared at him and snarled, baring her fangs.
"I won't hurt you," he lied, slowly pulling out a gun from his back pocket.
But before he had a chance to use it, someone tackled him from behind. It was Steve.
"Are you okay?" Jason asked Lisa.
She stood up, still in pain. "I think so."
"What did he do to you?"
"He used that flashlight. It's ultraviolet. He knew that I was a vampire."
Jason stormed over to the man, grabbed his throat, and lifted him up in the air, choking him. "Who are you?" he demanded.
Through the choking, the man asked Jason a question. "Who ... are ... you?"
Jason threw the man to ground, like he was rag doll. "There's a better way to get answers," he said. He turned to Steve and Lisa. "Go. Feed on that guy over there. I've got this one."
Lisa and Steve did as he asked and fed on the homeless man, while Jason fed on and turned the man who tried to hurt his sister. They were about to have another brother.
