It was two men on horseback. In their hands, they held bows and arrows.
"Where is he?" one of the men asked, looking in all directions.
"He's here," the other said. "I know it."
Are they looking for me? Gary thought to himself. Thinking that they were, he backed up slowly, accidentally snapping a twig as he did so.
The two men immediately looked in his direction.
Gary froze.
None of his other times in the labyrinth were like this. He was never in danger of dying. It was always about solving puzzles and such.
The two men stared a little longer, then stopped.
"Must have been the wind," the second man said. Then they rode on.
Gary was too afraid to move.
