"Fuck! So much for an early night! Why does no one in this country have any consideration for other people?? Fuck!! I want to
get to sleep!! I wish they'd turn that racket off and find something quiet to do!"

Naryanne was very pleased. This was a wish very much open to misinterpretation, and misinterpretation was what she enjoyed
the most. She cast her gaze over the neighbouring household and surveyed its oblivious occupants...

Sue-Ellen Royce was taking another bottle of wine from the freezer while her young husband Barney entertained their guests.

Barney Royce was a tall man and handsome too. He and Sue-Ellen had met each other at college, and married shortly after.
They'd been together for six years now. Barney was about 6'4", well built and dark haired. He ran a successful coffee shop
with his best friend, Dean Stutter.

Dean was at the party too. In fact, he was the guest of honour, it being his birthday. He was the same age as Barney and
while not as tall as his friend (an even 6 foot), he was just as good looking. His blond hair was tied into a neat ponytail
and his muscles bulged visibly beneath the shirt he was wearing. Dean liked to work out and it was at the gym were he'd
first met his current girlfriend, Shauna.

Shauna was a woman of athletic build with tanned skin, blond hair and large breasts. She wasn't the most intelligent of
girls, but she was far from a bimbo and hated being treated like one. She loved Dean very much, though at times it seemed
like he wasn't at all serious about their relationship. But Shauna wasn't the jealous type at all and didn't even mind it
when Dean looked at other women. He was looking at Sue-Ellen right now.

Sue-Ellen had returned with the wine and poured generously into each person's glass. Sue-Ellen is of average height, which
easily makes her the shortest of the four, with dark hair and a full figure. She didn't care much for this Shauna, but she
thought it too rude to say so. Anyway, it was good to see Dean with someone again. His relationships never seemed to last,
and there could be months between them. Sue-Ellen thought it was a shame such a charmer like him hadn't found the person of
his dreams yet.

As far as Dean was concerned, he'd found the woman of his dreams long ago. It was Sue-Ellen, and his best friend had gotten
there first.

Naryanne does not know everything, nor is she omnipresent (not quite, anyway). However, she sees our world from a
perspective that allows her to look at a person's mind as easily as she can look at the nose on their face. From a glance
she knew the memories and secrets of everyone at Barney Royce's party. She smiled, positively encouraged by the stock of
emotion among these four creatures. She would indeed enjoy this wish!

With a little concentration, Naryanne caused the Royce's stereo system to short circuit. The music cut out with a bang and a
fizz.

Shauna leaped up in surprise. "What was that?" she cried.

"Looks like your stereo's bust, Barn," Dean observed.

"Shit," Barney swore. "It was brand new, too!"

"So," Dean asked, "what do we do now?"
