"I wish you didn't love me so you would just leave me alone."
There was silence as all parties waited for the stone to flash. Petra stared in shock and betrayal. Karyn was likewise stunned. Whereas, Jen continued to stare down Petra with a face of pure hatred.
After several seconds, it was clear that the stone wouldn't flash, wouldn't undue Jen's previous wish to have Petra be in love with her. Jen just huffed, shoving the bouquet into Karyn's arms before stalking off. Karyn lingered for a moment a look of pity on her face before she rushed off towards Jen.
Petra stood there as the events of the last minute replayed in her mind. She was so thankful that the stone didn't flash and the wish didn't work. She could easily imagine the despair and depression that would result. Even in the circumstances, just seeing Jen bolstered her mood, she was just so... incredible and beautiful and...
So, that hadn't gone over well. She'll have to take a more cautious approach, slowly winning Jen over. She would make Jen see that she was worthy of being loved by her. And even if she didn't completely succeed and Jennifer would never consider a relationship with her even being friends would be a massive improvement. Or she could steal the stone, the thought made her feel a little sick, doing so literally caused this situation in the first place. Jen could have placed safeguards on it by now. Still, it was something to consider.
The bell wrung, time for first period.
