In the meantime, the protesters were using Jethro as target practice, as they hurled sticks, rocks, and even insults at him, calling him the devil and other things akin.
"I'm ..." he tried to explain. "I'm not the devil!"
But no one would listen. And why would they, considering Jethro's current appearance?
He had to get out of there.
Jethro pushed through the crowd back towards the clinic, where he thought he'd be safe. A pregnant girl punched him as he walked by, causing him a great deal of pain. And in turn, he slapped her across the face. Not on purpose, but more of a reflex reaction.
He pushed further through the crowd until he made it to the clinic, and then walked inside.
A man lifted up the pregnant girl that Jethro had slapped to the ground. She looked dazed, but when her head cleared, she said "I want an abortion."
The man looked shocked. "Honey, you don't mean that."
"Yes, I do. Getting an abortion isn't bad."
The man become infuriated. That damn demon-creature changed my daughter into a sinner!
