Thinking it was safe enough, Natalie decided to tell Dave the truth. But he didn't seem to take it very well.
"Do you really think I would believe a bullshit story like that?" he asked, obviously angry.
"It's the truth. I swear," Natalie said.
"Nat, if you're gonna make up a lie ..."
"It's not a lie. It happened. Chris really turned into a ..."
He waved her off, then headed to the door.
"Where are you going?" she asked.
"Out. I ... I need to some time to think." And then he left, leaving Natalie alone to wonder if she did the right thing.
