After Hans left, P.L. made note of a few employees that were slacking off. She had the authority to fire people, and she thought that this was as good a time as any.
She sternly looked down at the list she made up. The first name was Tim, one of the copywriters. People like Tim could bring this company to the ground and she couldn't have that.
She pressed her intercom and told the secretary that she wanted to see Tim.
"Tim?" the secretary asked.
He turned around in his chair and saw her standing behind him.
"I'm sorry, but Ms. Aything wants to see you."
"Really?" he asked, then smiled. He left his cubicle and walked to P.L.'s office.
Inside her office, P.L. began to ripple and change, back into the pixieish redhead in a T-shirt and shorts. All memories regarding her decision to fire Tim were gone.
Tim walked in and smiled. "Uh, what did you want to see me about?"
"I forgot to ask you where you wanted to have dinner."
"Uh, I ... I don't ..."
"That's okay. How about I pick a place?"
"Okay."
P.L. smiled brightly. "Okay, then. After work, I'll drive you home, if you want. Then we can make dinner plans. Does that sound good?"
"Very good," he said.
She smiled. He smiled. Then he left to go back to his cubicle.
