The first thing Danny wanted to do, he decided, was to make everyday things more fun. He thought of some of his fun things, like his toys, his video games, and his tree house in the back yard. Tree house! That was it!
"I wish everybody could live in great big tree houses high in the trees, with 'lectricity, playstation, and great big slides to slide on," he said.
The earth began trembling as huge trees began rising from the ground. One picked up his house with the help of a few others, and Danny stared in awe as it rose far, far above his head. When all the trees had finished growing, it was dark on the ground where he sat, since the forest canopy up above kept all the light from filtering through.
Everything was now in the trees. He could even see metal tracks running through the boughs of the great wood, and the trollies that ran on them, ferrying people to and fro.
"Wow! Cool!" he yelled, throwing down his toys.
"This is what you can do now, if you like," said Narayanne.
The only problem Danny could see was that he'd have to climb a long way to get to the top of the tree where the people were. It looked kind of frightening.
"I wish it were easier for people to climb these trees," he said.
