James Striker was lost in thought, as he turned off the shower he was using. "How did it come to this?", he wondered. As he walked lazily from the showers to his locker, he began to remember his baseball career up till now.
James was the star right fielder of his High School team, and was instrumental in leading his team to victory his junior year. However, a broken leg in his senior year cost him a scholarship to a major university. Being unable to afford college, his only chance at making it into the majors would be to work his way up through the minor leagues. This is the reason why he was now standing the small locker room, having just finished up practice for the day. Unfortunately, after a few seasons with his team, the Devils, he was no closer to achieving his dream.
"Oh well," he said quietly to himself, "at least I get to be on TV and can get some exposure. It could be worse."
In fact, it was the deal with WBAB that allowed the team to have even the small training facility that they currently were using, even if it was a little run down. The showers worked alright, but the lockers reminded him of what he used back in school. And the light blue paint on the walls always did seem a little childish. At least, he thought it had been light blue.
"Huh, I guess they must have painted it white yesterday."
As James opened his locker to get dressed, he felt a slight shiver. He shrugged it off thinking that he had simply been reminiscing too long after showering.
Elsewhere, Narayanne practically giggled with anticipation. From her vantage point, she could see all of the changes as they happened.
