Tanya shifted in her seat as a web page loaded, trying to ease the sudden pain in her tailbone. "Have to take a break soon," she muttered as the pain continued.
Suddenly the half picture on the screen vanished; replaced by huge red letters. "Do it now!"
"Huh?" Tanya clicked 'Back'. The strange text vanished, then a different message appeared. "Find a mirror. Do it now."
She growled under her breath as she clicked 'start' and 'shut down,' sure her computer had picked up some virus.
The computer screen blinked, then displayed "Is not!"
Tanya clicked the switch on the backup power supply; which should have instantly turned the computer off. Instead the screen blinked again, displaying "Be careful; you just might get it."
Tanya stood up, intending to yank the plug from the wall; only something pulled at her backside. Hard. An instant later the chair collided with the back of her legs.
"Ow!" Tanya grabbed for whatever had snagged the chair, her hand finding fur instead of cloth ...
The chair clattered to the floor as Tanya ran for the bathroom. She froze as she saw herself in the mirror. Or at least the figure in the mirror moved when she did. Only if she could believe her eyes she was now a humanoid fox. Her clothes entirely replaced by fur; white on her chest and stomach, reddish orange everywhere else. She reached up to touch her ears, and her fingers - at least I still have fingers - felt the same constantly twitching triangular ears the mirror showed. And she realized she could feel as well as see her new tail - bushy, with a white tip - lashing the air behind her.
I'm one of the characters I draw, she realized.
