Of course the statue is too heavy and the light faded even for their feline eyes, they turned and headed home.
Unnoticed by either of them was the shadow that folowed them. It heard them telling Agatha about the statue before follwing Jon home,
waiting for her to sleep it entered her dreams.
Inside the shadow formed looking much like the sphinx it came from.
In the dream landscape it spotted Jon, as his old male self. Walking over it bowed to him "Hello Jon"
He turned around "Who are you and where am I?"
The sphinx smiles "Dreaming. It is the only way I can contact you and even then only once a month, it takes a lot out of me. I am the sphinx
staute you visited today, well a shadow of her at least, most of her knowlege and not a lot of her personality. "
"A shadow?" he asked.
"She tried to get your stone back to you despite knowing the curse would get her too. She almost made it too."
"Curse?"
"Well not really a curse. Just a wish made on the stone to keep you as a sphinx."
He gulped "What wish?"
"Until you have great-grand children who are sphinxes any wish made to change you will fail. She is stuck as a staute until that happens
too."
He gulped again "I am not ready for that, and their are no sphinxes around here anyway."
The shadow nods "She thought you might feel that way. She also does not want to force you until you are ready. We have plenty of time and
you are still young."
"How long do sphinxes live for?"
"Well a thousand years is still considered young. And don't worry about having to be so low, you will get bigger."
"How much bigger?"
"Well, big enough to look down on a male human. It is also possible for you to learn your own magic to walk upright and have hands again."
"How do you know what is bothering me?"
"We are in your dream, I can read what is bothering you. And I can also teach you about how to use your wings"
