Hours later, Jon sat in front of Ms. Black's vanity running his tongue over his new teeth. The real Ms. Black had left thirty minutes ago to avoid being caught when Karyn came home. Jon stared at himself in the mirror,

"Hello, I'm Alyssa Black." Something in him thrilled at the sound of Ms. Black's soprano. He felt bad for displacing her, but she had to admit this was kind of exciting right? As he examined himself in the mirror he realized another fact. He felt GOOD in this body compared to his own. He was a bit older sure, but he was attractive, and confident in a way he just wasn't as Jon. Of course today had been mostly lessons with Ms. Black inside her house; he hadn't really experienced being her out in the world yet.

"Hiya, I'm Alyssa Black, nice to meet you. I'm Alyssa Black, the writer of Firestar and The Seven Swords." That thought boggled his mind too. He didn't think about it a lot but Ms. Black, and now he, was a world famous author and consequently a multi-millionare after her Seven Swords film deal and Firestar tv show. The Blacks didn't flaunt their money like the McMillans most of the time but they certainly had it. Or, for the moment he had it. After much hemming and hawing, Alyssa had given him her bank information, along with her passwords and credit cards. He'd argued getting into a situation where he didn't have access to her money would look too suspicious and she'd reluctantly agreed. He felt bad, Ms. Black had gone from a rather wealthy woman, to someone with 164 dollars in a savings account, but he enjoyed having experienced the reverse.

His time marveling in the mirror came to an end when he heard Karyn shout "Mom, I'm home" from downstairs. He rose and went down to meet his 'daughter'. Once again Karyn went for a hug and the warmth returned to Jon's chest. He could get used to that feeling "How was school, sweetpea?" Jon inquired.

Karyn sat on the stool by the kitchen counter and peeled a banana as she spoke, "Good for the most part. Jonboy was out sick so that's a bummer." Jon smiled at that, he was closer than she realized. "We had this back to school pep rally that went kinda weird. Ms. Lafayette stumbled over her speech a bit, and then the cheerleaders seemed totally confused. It was a little funny seeing Tiffany completely miss catching Sarah, though."

"Karyn" Jon scolded, if he were himself he might also laugh, but Ms. Black had stressed she was trying to help Karyn get over her rivalry with Sarah. She remembered when the two were friends as children and was sad to see them fight "She could have been hurt."

"There was a mat under her. Jeez mom, I don't like her but I don't want her to get injured." Jon dared a little and leaned over to kiss Karyn on the forehead "That's my girl."

"What about you mom, how was your day?"

Jon fell back on the cover Alyssa gave him. Karyn probably wouldn't believe him if he told her that her mother was learning how to walk and sit in her own clothes and shoes anyways. "I was finishing the next chapter of Supernova, publishers want it by Friday." That was the follow up to Firestar and Alyssa genuinely did owe her publishers a chapter at the end of the week. They'd planned to have her try and squeeze writing it in with Jon's schoolwork, but Jon was idly considering taking a crack at it himself. After all, to all outside observers, he was the author of Firestar now. "Well, since your friend's sick, what if you and I hung out tonight? Maybe pop some popcorn and watch a movie."

Jon knew Ms. Black and Karyn had regular movie nights, and was somewhat eager to experience one for himself. Karyn smiled, "Sure, some Mother Daughter time sounds great!"
