(Very slight alteration to this path. Since Jon just came back from spring break, he and Karyn won't be attending Ivy until the start of the next year. Also I switched Biff's secretary to not work at McMillan industries. I could have branched off earlier, but I really liked the description of meeting Jennifer in the previous chapter.)

"Then after that, I'm going to Vancouver to shoot some episodes as a new love interest for an arc of that Netflix show, Hyperbia. Since you'll be finishing up school by then, the program has fixed it so you can come and shadow me on set!" Jennifer was very enthusiastic about spending time with her new mentee.

For his part, Jon finally recognized the woman in front of him. Jennifer Kingsley was a bonafide star, not an A-list celebrity but solidly B-list. He could remember his mom dragging Zoe to her latest rom-com only last month. Plus he definitely knew Hyperbia, the show was a massive success, drawing huge numbers. It followed a group of young adults who discovered they all had super powers. As the plot continued, the figured out their parents were superheroes who'd been hypnotized to forget their alter egos and live out mundane lives in the titular town. Jon was actually rather invested in the slow burn mystery of figuring out who was behind it all and was quite excited he'd get to actually be on the set.

"That sounds fantastic!" He replied "Yay, I knew you'd be excited!" Jennifer exclaimed before gathering up her purse. "Now c'mon, lets go chat somewhere a bit less gloomy than this office. I'll treat you to a frappe at Starbucks."

MEANWHILE:

Biff was not warming up to his mentor nearly as fast. Regina Coolidge, a short woman wearing a skimpy pink skirt and frilled white top, was not who he was looking for in a role model. The woman kept looking down at her phone and clacking away at it with her long nails, before finally turning her attention back to Biff.

"You're not happy with your assignment? Well tough, buster. You're getting a fast track to a career and you should be grateful. Now as I said, I'm a personal secretary. That means I'm not a receptionist; I don't wear a nametag and answer phones all day. Instead I'm totally devoted to one client and making sure there life runs smoothly. In my case that boss is Andrea Cabrella the CEO of Regency Pictures. Her time is immensely valuable so I'm in charge of keeping all the little issues off her plate. That's a secretary's pride, fixing problems before their boss even knows they exist."

Biff balked at that. He was the big man on campus, he didn't need to learn how to serve others, they should be serving him!

MEANWHILE:

Karyn had been stunned when her mentor was none other than Bruce Sampson, the movie star. His role as Apollo in the Champions films had made the New Zealander into a world famous commodity. He was the sexiest man of the year last year for gods sake. And Karyn could see why; although she was confused about her placement, she quickly forgot as she examined his chiseled jaw and piercing blue eyes.

"So yeah, as I was saying I'm here for the month to get you started. Then when you get done with your semester, you'll join me up in Vancouver. I don't normally do TV work at this point in my career but Hyperbia's a prestige show and they're giving me a chance to play the villain and show my range. Let that be lesson number one, know your type but don't let yourself get typecast." Karyn nodded and began to take notes.

MEANWHILE:

Sarah had been confused by getting assigned Bodyguard. While she didn't want switch with Biff and be a secretary, at least he would have been big and burly like the bouncer she was picturing. The sliver lining was that she wouldn't have to quit her extra curriculars and even would get to do some fun things that summer.

When she stepped into the room, she was expecting to see a brute, and was surprised to find a short red haired woman instead.

The woman was quite attractive, if a little butch, wearing a leather jacket over a red cotton shirt. Still, something about the woman radiated danger to Sarah's senses and her eyes brooked no nonsense.

"Okay, I'm Sam Stewart, retired Captain, U.S Army. Currently I work as the head of the best regarded private security company in the United States. However, I started as a simple agent and I believe in giving others a leg up so I'll be your mentor in the program. You'll learn from me how to handle weapons" as she spoke she casually pulled a pistol form a concealed holster, unloaded it and set it on the table. She then pulled a knife from her boot and twirled it. "And how to make yourself a weapon. You'll learn everything to know to make sure both you and your protetee stay safe and alive. This will be tough, and I will be demanding, but on the other side you'll be an agent I'd be happy to have guarding my back."
