She came here from China, the first member of her family to get a college education. Unfortunately, she was also Bi-Polar. And when her depression caused her grades to flag, she lost her student visa and was being deported. After what seemed like hours of tearful embracing and quiet, depressed conversation, I watched her plane take off with tears in my eyes and a heavy heart.
