Eric and Mom ran from the living room and into the front foyer. The door was wide open.
"Jenny." Mom said. She ran from the foyer to the kicthen. "Jenny! Jenny!" She yelled and then ran back into the foyer. "I think he, she ran away." Mom said softly. She sat down at the base of the stairs that led to the upstairs. She started crying. "Why is this happening?"
Eric stood there for a moment, closed the front door and sat next to Mom. "Don't worry, everythings going to be alright."
"I have to worry, I have to worry about you." She tried to gain her composure, but failed.
"No, you don't have to worry about me."
"Yes I..."
"No you don't. I'm really sorry, but, but I'm not Jeremy, when you came up to me, at the field, with everything that was happening I just ended up pretending to be. I'm not sure why I did anymore."
"You, you're not Jeremy?" She was still crying.
"No." Eric looked at her. She didn't say anything else. With his the best his weak body could do he brought Mom into what looked like her bedroom and let her fall asleep on the bed. She's going to need this Eric thought.
