Jill sat down on the couch and put one arm around the sobbing girl. "Hey, I didn't mean anything by that crack about overdoing it. Sometimes I talk before I think. I just assumed that you really wanted to look like that. The more I look at you, the more I wish maybe I had loaded up on the potatoes myself." The new arrivals crying continued, but seemed to ease up a little. The girl started to speak, but then broke into tears again as if the sound of her own voice upset her.

"It looks like we have been assigned to be a family unit. My name is Jill, I guess I am supposed to be your big sister, I never had a little sister before, this could be fun. What's your name?".

"It's me, Jack" the girl said with a broken voice. Jill's jaw dropped. "I didn't do this to myself on purpose. I just didn't read the instruction book. I was really hungry and filled my plate and this is what I got."

Jill pulled her arm back and stared in continued disbelief. Slowly she began to smile and the smile turned into a grin. The grin into a chuckle and the chuckle into gales of laughter that made her fall off the couch and left her rolling helplessly on the floor. Jack stared angrily at Jill.

"Don't give me dirty looks" said Jill, still laughing, "my life was going really well until you up and killed us with your bad driving." She started to laugh again a little, then jumped up and went to the desk in the corner of the room.

"Well at least there is some justice. I found this while I was exploring the house. Maybe you will learn something this time." She handed Jack a sheaf of papers which, after his blurred eyes cleared he saw was a partially completed application to enroll in driver's education. The application was in the name of fifteen year old Jennifer Oaks and it listed her parents as Mark and Julia Oaks. In case her parents could not be reached in an emergency it instructed the DMV to notify her sister, 20 year old Jill Oaks. At the top was a small headshot of a girl with the kind of looks Jack would have described as "jail bait" (a few hours, days, who knew) before.
