Jill opened her eyes. Where was she? The last thing she remembered was ... oh god! The car crash!
She looked around and saw that she was in a hospital room. A nurse walked in and smiled at her.
"How badly am I hurt?" she asked the nurse. But then nearly fainted from shock at hearing her voice. It was a man's voice. Jill looked down at her body and saw that she had a man's body, as well.
"Hurt?" the nurse asked, puzzled. "Mr. Green, you're not hurt. Don't you remember? You're in the hospital because you have pneumonia. Someone as old as you shouldn't be out skiing in such cold weather. Honestly, I'm not sure what went through your head."
Old? Jill thought. What does she mean by that? She turned her head and stared wide-eyed at her reflection in a nearby mirror. She was an old man! At least sixty, with a balding head.
"You know, it was touch and go there for a time," the nurse said. "Your heart actually stopped for at least ten seconds. But then you came back to us. It was miraculous."
Jill stared at the nurse. She didn't know how it was possible, but she had a feeling that she died in that car crash and her soul somehow took over this old guy's body.
She had to tell someone this! But who would believe her?
