Spring break was over and school had just started again. I sat on the wall behind school, waiting. I was so nervous, having the object with me. I had thought about leaving it in my locker, but was afraid that someone might steal it, so I had kept it in my pocket. I was waiting for Sarah, hoping that she would come soon.

Then I saw her coming around the corner. She was wearing her usual blouse, skirt and tennis shoes. Sarah McMillan had been my best friend for as long as we could both remember. She was one of the nicest, sweetest girls I knew. She was also one of the most feminine girls in school. Her long, blonde hair went down to her waist and her dd-cup breasts bounced as she walked towards me. I always thought that she was really cute, even though she was so feminine. Most other guys thought that small-chested tomboys were cuter, but I always preferred girls who were feminine, not to mention stacked. I had always wanted to have sex with her, but didn't want to complicate our relationship.

"Hey, Jon-boy," she said. "Did you have a good break? I'm glad to be back. It was fun, but there is only so much skiing that one girl can do."

"It was all right, I guess," I responded.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

"My grandfather died," I said.

"That's awful," Sarah said. "He always seemed so active. Didn't he just get back from a trip to South America?"

"Yeah," I said.

"Then what's wrong?" said Sarah.

"I think he might not be dead," I said.

"What do you mean?" she asked. "Wouldn't a coroner notice something that obvious?"

"Its just that I got this in the mail the other day," I said, bringing out the box. Sarah opened it up. There was a plain stone and a note in it. "Go ahead," I said. "Read it."

Dear Jon,

If you are reading this, it means that I have passed away. This stone is my legacy to you. I found it in an ancient Mayan pyramid. It is a wishing stone. All one has to do to use it is to hold it in your hand and start your wish with the phrase 'I wish,' and it will occur. You can make as many wishes as you want, but there are a few things that you should know. The wishes can not be reversed, only modified. Because you can't reverse wishes, you will have to be careful to consider any potential ramifications that may not be immediately obvious. Also, anyone who doesn't hear the wishes will believe that things had always been that way and accept it as normal. Only people who heard the wish would remember the original reality. I trust that you will learn to use this stone well. Don't be sad that I am dead. Just think of this as my next big adventure.

Your friend,

Grandpa

"So, why does this mean that your grandfather isn't dead?" asked Sarah.

"The package it came in was dated the day before he died," I said. "It just seems odd that he seems to have known when he was going to die and sent it to me just before he passed away. Not just 'I'm going to die soon and I want you to have this.' More like knowing exactly when he was going to die and timing it for that event. It just seems too specific to be coincidence."

"Soooo, have you actually tried it out yet?" asked Sarah.

"Only on tiny stuff," I said. "Stuff I felt was too minor to have any real effect. I learned that really can't reverse wishes. Watch this." I took out the stone. "I wish that the school was painted blue." The rock glowed slightly and the school suddenly was painted dark blue. "I wish that it was painted a lighter shade of blue." The school suddenly was sky blue. "I wish that it wasn't blue any more." Nothing happened. I put the stone back in the box.

Sarah took the stone and said, "So everyone who didn't hear the wish will remember that the school is painted blue. You could wish for anything and people will accpet it?"

"As far as I can tell," I said.

"Did you want to test it out more?" asked Sarah.

"I suppose so," I said. "I thought you might have some ideas on how to use it without hurting anyone."

At that moment, who would walk past than Karyn Black, the school bitch, and a few of her cronies. Karyn was a tomboy, her red hair cut short, her breasts small and her clothing style more in line with something I would wear. She was captain of the girl's basketball team. Most of the boys drooled over tomboys like Karyn, their more boyish looks and mannerisms considered more attractive than Sarah's girlishness. She was also a world class jerk, putting down people like Sarah and I for not being as popular or good looking as she was.

"God," said Sarah. "Why do so many boys drool over girls like her, just because she plays sports and dresses like a boy? And she's such a jerk, even to the boys that lust after her. I wish that I had a body more like her's. Maybe then boys would notice me more." It was only then that we remembered that Sarah still held the rock. It flashed and suddenly Sarah began to change. Her hair shortened, though it stayed its original blonde color. Her boobs seemed to deflate, leaving her blouse looking baggy.

"Help me, Jon," she yelled, hyperventalating. "Make it stop!"

"I can't," I said, snatching the rock from her hand. "Wishes can't be reversed, remember?"

Sarah began to calm down. "Great," she said. "I wished for a body more like Karyn's and now I can't make it go away. How am I supposed to get used to not having big boobs? I feel like I haven't hit puberty yet. You've used this thing, right? Do you have any idea how to fix this?"

"No," I said. "But maybe if we sleep on it and make a few tests later, we can figure something out. We can't reverse it, but maybe we can modify it somehow to get you back to normal."

"Good," said Sarah. "At least everyone will think that I'm supposed to be this way. Now lets go home."
