Jim stood on his lawn, trying to think of what to do next. He thought about going to his mom's office (which was downtown, just about four blocks away) to fix his mom and anyone else affected. But then he thought that maybe he should fix Mrs. Lyte first. Given her reaction after she slapped Teresa, it was clear that she was affected by his influence.
As he stood there thinking, however, he saw Mrs. Lyte leave her house and get in her car. She didn't seem any different. Maybe she hadn't been influenced afterall. Jim was sure that she would be wearing something revealing or at least be acting atypically. But she seemed just as normal as ever. She even glared at him before getting in her car and backing out of her driveway.
Then she drove off towards downtown. If the woman wasn't such a stuck-up bitch, maybe he could have asked her for a ride, as they both were headed in the same direction.
Jim sighed, then began walking towards downtown. This wasn't how he wanted to spend his day. He'd rather hang out with his best friend Rick. But this was important. He created this mess and he was going to fix it. At least, he hoped he would.
