Jim consulted his notes once again, then took a deep breath before reciting the spell, but instead of specifying the swap to be with Rick's sister, Jim specified it to be with his mom. He was going to swap with Rebecca, but at the last second, he was curious to see how things would change if he swapped with Rick's mom instead, as his friend "suggested". He assumed that he would stay male, but if he replaced Rick's mom, what would happen to Rick? It intrigued him enough to try it out.
"What the hell, man?" Rick said. "I thought you were gonna swap with ..."
Jim closed his eyes, as a strange sensation suddenly filled the air. The best way he could think of to describe it was that the universe shifted ever so slightly to the left. And as quickly as it came, it passed.
Then Jim opened his eyes.
