Jim consulted his notes once again, then took a deep breath before reciting the spell, leaving out Rebecca's name at the last moment. Who knew what modern names might translate to in Latin?
A strange sensation filled the air. The best way Jim could think of to describe it was that the universe shifted ever so slightly to the left. As quickly as it came, it passed.
He took a look at himself in Rick's mirror and saw that he looked exactly the same, except for his clothes, which looked only slightly different. And his face had more of a resemblance of Rick's family than his own.
"See?" Jim said. "Exactly what I said would happen."
"Are you sure?" Rick asked, nodding towards his friend's crotch.
Jim pulled down his pants and saw the familiar bulge in his underwear. Then he pulled his pants back up. "Yep, I'm still all here."
"And you don't feel any different? I mean, you don't have like a separate set of memories or anything, right?"
"I don't think so." He paused for a moment, and thought about it. "Nope. No memories." He turned back towards the spell book. "But maybe there's a spell in here that ..."
"One spell is enough. For now."
Jim shrugged. "Okay, fine. So, now what, brother?" he asked with a grin.
