"Alright, Jim. I called you over here to show you this." He opened the door, revealing the interior of his closet.
"And?"
Rick picked up a large bound book that was sitting on the floor of his closet. It was so big that he had to use both hands to lift it up.
"Okay, it's a book. So what?"
Rick was getting a little annoyed by his friend's lack of interest. "It's not just any book. It's a book of spells."
"Spells? Yeah, whatever."
"That's what I thought too, until I tried one of them."
At first Jim thought Rick was just putting him on, but after his friend read one of the spells out loud, Jim's opinion of the situation changed.
"Permoveo res ut novus locus," Rick read from the book, and pointed to a pencil resting on his desk. Suddenly, the pencil moved to the other side of the desk, all by itself!
Now Jim was interested. He pushed Rick aside and looked through the book himself. It was all written in Latin, something Jim nor Rick could read.
"How did you know what that would do?"
"I tried it earlier. Actually, that's the only one I tried. I can't read Latin, so I don't know what the spells do. I guess I was lucky that it wasn't something dangerous."
"I guess so," Jim agreed. He paused for a moment, then said "So, do you want to try more? Or what?"
