After they entered the mall, Jim got a surprise. He saw his little brother Matt hanging out with some of his friends near the arcade.
Suddenly, Jim stopped in his tracks.
Beth turned around. "Jim? What's wrong?"
"That's my brother over there. If he sees us together, he'll tell my mom that I was seeing someone."
"So?"
"My mom is like a Nazi when it comes to girls I date. I mean, look at you. The way you're dressed now, Matt will be telling her I'm dating ... well ..."
"Okay, I got it. But I can't change my clothes in front of everyone else. The use of magic outside of class is forbidden, especially if it's in front of the public."
"But my brother's gonna see you any second," Jim complained. And just as he said that, it happened. Jim and Matt made eye contact, then Matt's gaze drifted to Beth. "He spotted us. Can't you use a magic spell to fix this?"
"Well, actually ... yeah. I can ..." Beth began to say.
