Jim stormed upstairs and knocked on Rebecca's door. "Becca, will you let me in for a few minutes?"
Rebecca opened the door, asking, "Becca?"
"Do you mind," Jim asked.
"Not from you, I suppose." She gestured for Jim to enter, saying, "What's going on?"
"Your parents are getting home; I figured this would keep me from getting him in trouble."
"Getting him in trouble? What about you? Why do you still look like this?"
"That's what I said," Jim continued. "I don't know; he did something to reverse the spell, and nothing happened. Then he said I shouldn't worry about it, that I'd change back gradually."
"I hope he's right," Rebecca said. "I thought spell reversals were always instantaneous. But, being older, he'd probably know more than me."
Jim asked, "Do you mind walking home with me? If my parents aren't home, then no worries, I can just stay there. But if they are, maybe we can walk over to the park, or something?"
"As long as you're still a girl," Rebecca corrected, "We should go to the mall to hang out.
Unless this is a date, of course."
Caught off-guard, Jim stammered, "A date, Becca? I... uhh... I didn't think about it." Seeing Becca's disappointed look, she said, "Would you like to go on a date with me, to the park?"
Rebecca smiled, and nodded. Just then, there was a knock on the door. It was Rebecca's mom, saying, "Rebecca, honey, we're home. Are you doing ok?"
