"Rachel?" he asked, stunned (but also pleased) that she was there.
She didn't say anything. She just stood there, staring at him with a blank expression.
"Rachel, are you okay?" But she didn't respond. He looked past her, thinking that this was some sort of a prank, but he didn't see anyone else on his lawn.
His girlfriend (or was it ex-girlfriend, now?) breathed, as if she were trying to say something, but nothing came out.
Feeling worried and clearly disturbed, Jim pulled her in and closed the door. What was wrong with her?
