"Hey, Jon. What's so funny?" asked Zoe, who surprised Jon out of his laughter. He had forgotten that she was at the mall, buying her new clothes. If you didn't know any better, you'd sware she was never a Goth. She had replaced her black lipstick with pink lipstick and removed her nose piercings. She still had her black-dyed hair, but she obviously already bought new clothes, because she now wore a pink T-shirt, a light pink pleated mini-skirt, and a pair of pink heels. Just like Jon suggested to her, Zoe seemed to really like the color pink. And her attitude was very happy and bubbly.
"Sarah drank urine."
"Ewww. That's, like, so gross," Zoe said. "She must have done it on a dare."
"She didn't. She did it on purpose."
"Yeah, well, Sarah is weird. I'm just glad that I'm not friends with her." She took one more look at Sarah cringing on the floor, then looked back at her brother. "I've gotta go, Jon. I need to get a tan at the tanning salon. Maybe then, I can try to put all this Goth nonsense behind me."
"Okay, see you at home," Jon said, waving at her as she walked away. This Zoe was definitely an improvement.
Jon turned back towards Sarah, but she wasn't there. Where did she go?
