Karyn looked at her watch. Where was Jon? He was supposed to meet her at the mall ten minutes ago, but he never showed up.
While waiting in the food court for Jon, she saw Zoe. She couldn't believe it. Zoe was no longer a Goth, or at least she wasn't dressed like one. Something like that couldn't just happen. Jon must have used the stone on her.
"Hi, Karyn," Zoe said, when she spotted Jon's friend.
"Uh. Hi, Zoe. What are you doing here? I thought you only shopped at that occult store."
"Not anymore. I don't want to be a Goth anymore. I want to be normal."
This was weird, Karyn knew that for sure. "Do you know where Jon is?"
"The last time I saw him he was at home. Listen, I've gotta run. I have a lot of shopping to do."
"Where are you going first?"
"Victoria's Secret. If I'm gonna buy new clothes, I might as well start from the bottom up." Then she walked away.
Karyn pulled out her cell phone and called Jon.
"Hello?" Jon asked, over the phone.
"Jon, how come you didn't come to the mall? We agreed to, so that we could grab something to eat at the food court."
"We never made plans to go to the mall, Karyn."
"That's right, we didn't. I'm not sure how I could have gotten that idea."
"You should come over to my house. I've got to tell you something."
"Okay. I'll be right there." She put away her cell phone and left the mall, not even realizing that Jon had just used his new ability on her.
