By the time Jon got upstairs, his mom had already gone inside and shut the door. Jon heard his mom and Zoe talking in low but nervous sounding voices. Then Jon heard the thud of somebody falling over again. Jon knew for sure now that something unusual was going on. He knocked on the door again. "Mom, Zoe?" Jon asked. "Is everything all right?"

"Uh... Sure honey, everything's fine," Linda replied. Then Jon heard another thump.

"Listen, somethings wrong! I keep hearing somebody fall and both of you are acting wierd! I'm coming in!" Jon began to open the door.

"Wait!" Linda shouted. "Hang on just a second!" Jon heard some rustling around and then Linda said, "OK, you can come in now!"

Jon didn't need a second invitation. As he entered, Jon saw Zoe sitting awkwardly on her bed with her covers wrapped around her. Zoe's school clothes were on the floor, and a black bra, corset, and mini skirt were on the floor. Linda was holding Zoe's bedsheets up to her chest, and Jon noticed her button-down blouse lying on the floor with several of the buttons torn off. "What is going on?" Jon asked.

The two women stammered for a moment, and Linda finally answered. "Well... I think something is wrong with us."

"What do you mean?" Jon asked.

This time Zoe answered. "Well, when I got home from school I took all of my clothes off like I usually do and got my after-school clothes out. I put on my panties and then picked up my bra. And then, suddenly, I couldn't figure out how to put it on. I tried for several minutes. It didn't help that I couldn't seem to keep my balance; I kept falling over. That's when I asked you to get Mom..."

Linda then told her story. "When you came down, I was concentrating because I was having trouble remembering my... um... what's the word... thingie to make food. And, to make matters worse, something must be wrong with my eyes, because I couldn't for the life of me read any of the... um... food instruction thingies in my box! Then, when I got up here, I tried to help Zoe, but I couldn't remember how to put a bra on, either. So, I suggested I take off my shirt and we could look at how mine went on and figure it out. Then, I couldn't figure out how to get it off; finally I just yanked it off. Even with my bra to look at, though, neither of us could figure out how to get Zoe's bra to work! We were hoping maybe you could help..."

After hearing Zoe and Linda's story, Jon finally figured it out. His wish hadn't made him smart; it had made everybody else stupid!
