Looking in the mirror, he saw his reflection. Jon was, by all appearances, a young redheaded girl; thirteen years old and several months pregnant. He hadn't even been the one to have sex to get there. In the mirror was what could easily have been his friend Karyn's younger sister. As it was, it was her granddaughter. She had a cute if somewhat plain face, still round with baby fat, loads of freckles and bright green eyes, with a rail-thin, boyish figure; not one of the early bloomers. The sort of girl who had no business, in his eyes, being pregnant.

This was his third life. The second one had been Paul Anderson, a friend of his and Karyn's from grade school. Until... he shook his head, feeling his long, thick hair fly around. No use dwelling on the past. He dressed the body of Bethany Black, now his, in plain panties, a barely-needed A-cup bra, and the school uniform for the past twenty-two years: a modest navy blue skirt and white collared shirt. Finishing off the outfit with white-and-pink sneakers, he went downstairs just as Jenn - mother, now, he reminded himself, not little Jennifer his friend's daughter, - was about to call for him. "Oh, there you are. Breakfast is ready, hun, so eat up. You're eating for two now!" she said cheerily.

As he started on the corn flakes, he said between bites, "That's a myth. A growing baby doesn't need anywhere near as much nourishment as a thirteen-year-old girl." He looked up at his "mother's" astonished face, smiling a brief smile of sweet innocence. Being fifty-five years older than he seemed had its advantages at times.

"Now where did you hear that?" she asked, an exasperated smile on her face. "Honestly, we can't fool you kids for a second nowadays with those web bracelets around."

He smiled, looking down at the unimpressive metallic bangle on his wrist, made with a spiderweb-like design. With a touch in a certain spot it would expand outward into a wrist-mounted smart computer, with internet access anywhere in the world. Finishing his cereal and toast, he said, "Gotta go, bye mom!" and quickly hugged her before heading out the door to where the bus had just pulled up. Amazing how so much has stayed the same, he thought as the doors folded open for him to enter.
