Fifty years later (in the year 2058), Jon sat on his bed. He wondered what time it was. From the amount of sunlight coming through his window, he guessed that it was around 11 am.
"House?"
A pause.
"YES, JON." It was a female voice.
"What time is it?"
"IT IS CURRENTLY ELEVEN EIGHTEEN A.M. EASTERN STANDARD TIME." Jon wasn't too far off.
"Thank you, House."
Jon stood up from his bed and walked to his bedroom mirror. Even after fifty years, it shocked him to see himself still at the age of 16. He sighed and left his room to go to the kitchen.
"House?"
A pause.
"YES, JON."
"I'd like to have scrambled eggs, bacon and a glass of milk."
Suddenly, motors began to hum, indicating that Jon's house was preparing his breakfast.
Jon walked into his living room and sat down on his couch.
"House?"
A pause.
"YES, JON."
"Activate the InterMon."
On the wall opposite of Jon, a holographic screen hung in midair, displaying news, weather, and other such things. (Just like TV was short for television, InterMon was short for interactive monitor.) Jon casually pointed towards the screen and opened up other screens. Jon could still remember using the internet on an actual PC. But after fifty years, it all seemed like ancient technology.
As Jon was browsing through the 2050's version of the internet, a ringing sound was heard in every room of the house.
"House, who is it?"
A pause.
"IT IS KARYN MAYFIELD."
Jon sighed. "Put her on." Karyn Black (now Karyn Mayfield) was now 66 years old. She had gotten married and had kids already. And one of her two kids was now married himself and had a boy of his own on the way. So, she was about to be a grandmother.
"Hi, Jon," Karyn said, sounding a little weaker than when she did when they were in high school, but still sounding okay. "I just called to say ..."
