"Steve?" I whispered, squinting as my eyes rebelled against the sudden influx of porchlight. As they adjusted and I took another look I realized that I was looking at Steve Farber. John and I had never shown too much in the way of school spirit, particularly when it came to sports, but I knew enough to be aware that he was a senior, a year ahead of me, and pretty important on the football team. As confused as I was, it was still difficult to deny that he was a total hottie. He normally was rarely seen away from Sarah and her followers.

Of course, if my little encounter earlier was any indication I was a part of that following now. Just another brainless, conceited, cheerleader bitch, I thought bitterly. As much of a dumbass rookie mistake as my wish had been, I still couldn't believe the changes had been so drastic.

"Hey Kare-bear," he said, a goofy grin playing across his lips. "Did I wake you?" I couldn't help but notice he had one hand behind his back.

I nodded and yawned. Kare-bear? If that wasn't just the latest thing I'd ever heard. Of course if that was true, then why was I smiling? This entire day was getting too weird. I wanted nothing more than to go see Jon. Not that I'd probably get past his mother. She seemed to have it in for me.

"Guess I was tired," I said.

"Sarah said you seemed a little off after school today," he paused and I could see his eyes traveling up and down my body. It was pretty obvious they were undressing me, and I wasn't sure how I felt about it. Being oggled was kind of a new experience for me. I was kind of surprised to find that on some level I was enjoying it. Despite the chilly night breeze, my body was starting to feel warm. "You didn't forget about tonight, did you?"

My blank expression seemed to tell him everything he needed to know. "You're parents are out of town. You invited me over for a private cheer session," he smiled mischievously, "help bolster my confidence for Friday's game." He revealed the brown paper bag in his hidden hand. "I even managed to get the tequila you wanted."

So I'm a drunk now too.

I should probably send him home, ignore the things my body was telling me, and go back to sleep.I'd see Jon in the morning and we could figure things out. On the other hand, talking to Steve some more might help me get a better handle on all of these changes.
