He saw that it was Karyn. Which was very wrong.
Until Karyn said "Mind if I come in," and Jon agreed. She opened the door all the way and tried to step through, but tripped instead.
She picked herself up off the ground and tried walking through again. This time, just as she was about to enter the room, there was a loud crash behind her and she stopped and turned, thus not entering the room. A piece of railing on the staircase had fallen off, and clanged against the tiles in the hallway downstairs.
Karyn grunted and tried to step inside again, but a freak gust of wind through Jon's open window blew the door in her face.
"All right, this is weird," said Karyn.
