As Karyn stood there, peeking around the corner, the hallways were filling up with more people. School would start in another half hour. She felt that she had to keep people away from the emos, but how would she be able to do that?
A couple of girls walked by, giving her a strange look, probably wondering why she was looking around a corner. She was about to warn them, but what would she tell them? That someone was turning people into emos? They wouldn't take her seriously. Plus, Karyn didn't want the emos to think that she was on to them. She'd have to wait until Jon was alone and try to help him then.
Jon leaned back against the lockers, as blood trickled down his arm. Steve was doing the same. The two girls quickly walked by. And from the looks on their faces, they were clearly disturbed by what they saw.
Jon walked towards them, cutting his arm as he went. The girls looked back at him once, then quickened their pace.
Steve walked up from behind. "They don't understand us," Jon said.
"How could they?" Steve asked. "Until they understand the truth, they'll never understand our pain."
Jon nodded.
