Nadine's hands were still free of handcuffs (from when the cop removed them for her to make her phone call), so she used this situation to make another one, this time with one of the phones on one of the desks in the bullpen. Whoever this Tyrone guy was, he had all the cops' attention at the moment, allowing Nadine to go unnoticed, for now. It was clear that no one was at her house right now (for some reason), but there were other phone numbers she could call, like her best friend Tina Shepard. Although, the more time that went on, the less Tina felt like her closest friend, and the more Dani felt like the same thing.
Looking up momentarily to make sure that the cops were still distracted, Nadine placed another call. To her relief, the call was answered!
"Hello? Who is this?" came Tina's voice.
"Tina, thank god you're there," Nadine said.
Suddenly, there was "zap" sound, then a brief moment of static, and then the line went dead.
"Hey, what the hell are you doing?!" came a cop's voice. Nadine had been spotted!

Tina reached for her phone and saw the unfamiliar number, but answered it anyway. She was just about to go to sleep and she knew that at this time of night, only people she knew would be calling her, so she answered. "Hello? Who is this?"
"Tina, thank god you're there," she heard the voice of her best friend and fellow Baptist girl Nadine Ferguson say. But before she could even form a response, her phone zapped her!
And now, she found herself somewhere else ... but that wasn't all. She was also dressed differently, wearing something she'd never wear in a million years.
