After pulling the wishing stone from her bag, Sabrina said "I wish Jon and Karyn would think that Jon gave me the stone, as a gift." That way, it would be totally justified to them why she had the wishing stone.
Jon broke off his conversation with Karyn and walked up to Sabrina. She wasn't sure what was going on, but kept her ground and didn't run away.
"How do you like using the stone?" Jon asked her. He didn't sound angry. When she didn't respond, he continued. "It's great, isn't it?"
"Uh, yeah."
Then Jon held her hands. "I love you."
"What?"
"I love you and I always will."
What's he talking about? Sabrina thought. I didn't wish for ... But then she realized that this was how her having the stone was justified. Jon was in love with her and trusted her. Apparently enough to possess a very powerful and dangerous wishing stone.
But she didn't really love Jon. And he only loved her because of a wish. It wasn't really "true love". Jon could see her hesitation and said "I wish you loved me just as much as I love you." They both felt the warmth coming from the stone in one of Sabrina's hands. "Oops," Jon said. "I didn't mean to ..."
"It's okay," Sabrina whispered. A smile appeared on her face. "I love you, Jon."
Jon smiled. Then they leaned in and kissed.
