"You'd better get out of here," said Jon.
"What? Jon, I'm your friend. It's not as if I broke in or something."
"I assume you used the stone, right? I lost it. It disappeared and I went back to sleep for a few minutes... hoped it would be there when I woke up, but I wasn't really thinking right..."
"Of course."
"Then it's exactly like you broke in."
"What?"
"Karyn," explained Jon, "the stone makes things be as if it was always like what you wished for. You wished to be in my room. Well... that means that the stone made there be some reason why you're in my room. Everyone else is probably still asleep, so they probably didn't let you in. You probably broke in. There could be police alarms going off right now, there could be Dad standing around with a shotgun...."
"Uhh, I don't know but that could be true, I guess. Here, let me fix it. I wish I was outside your window."
Nothing happened, of course, since that would be reversing the wish that Karyn be in Jon's room. Then Karyn heard a sound in the distance. Was that a police siren?
