After her father entered through the back door and thus barely avoided seeing the note, Jenny, a classmate of Mikey's who lived a few blocks down the street. became the first victim.
A little while after her father got home, Jenny got home from school. She was eight years old, and got along fairly well with her brother Benny, who was thirteen and just starting puberty. As she entered the house, she saw the note and felt compelled to read it. She walked into the house, dropped her backpack on the floor, and read it. "I wish," she said, "that I would swap genitals with my counterpart of the opposite sex in our family, and that our new genitals would adjust to match our bodies' ages, and that our whole family would remember reality as it was before the wish, and that I would develop as if I had my original genitals, and that my counterpart would develop as if they had their original genitals."
Jenny didn't even know what "genitals" meant, so the note didn't make much sense to her. Shrugging, she took the note over to the stove, turned on the burner, and set the paper on fire, reducing it to ash. After cleaning up the remains, she went up to her room to play. There was, of course, no way she could fail to notice the change, but with her eight year old mind she thought that since she wasn't in any pain or bleeding, there couldn't be a lot wrong with her.
Benny didn't immediately notice the change. Or rather, he did, but dismissed the strange feeling in his crotch as his pants slipping in some strange way. He was the last one in the house he went for the bathroom and tried to adjust his pants. Then he realized just how bad the situation was
Benny's scream was blood-curdling, and it wasn't long until his mom was knocking at the bathroom door. "Benny?" she asked, her concern evident in her voice. "Are you okay in there?"
Fresh screams assailed her ears, and she unhesitatingly grabbed the little key-wire, popped the bathroom lock, and opened the door. Benny was sitting on the toilet, seemingly unharmed, but tears were streaming down his face. "OH GOD," he screamed, upon seeing his mother, "I'M A GIRL!".
His mother rushed to his aid, worried, but even more surprised to find out what had happened. It seemed like a medical impossibility. Her son had been strangely transformed, but there was nothing that could possibly have caused it, and he was unable to tell her of anything he was doing that time other than walking along the sidewalk....
