Zoe thought about something else to say and then said "You're not my brother, Jon. But you are friends with me and Karyn." The moment she finished, she expected Jon to turn into a Goth boy, but he remained the same. Well, sort of. Now that he wasn't her brother anymore, he looked a little different. Oh, he was still Caucasian, still had brown hair, and still had a fairly average build, but it was now clear that he belonged to a different family. Zoe wondered whose family.
"You know, Jon. I know we're friends and all, and we both respect you for who you are, but would it hurt to just Goth yourself up, just a little?" Karyn asked. "I think it'd be good for you."
"Sorry, Karyn. It's not going to happen," Jon said, staying firm. It was true that he did like to hang out with two Goth girls, but he never wanted to be a Goth himself. It just wasn't for him.
But maybe Zoe could change that? After all, with just one statement, she could turn Jon into the Goth boy that Karyn wanted him to be. She could turn Jon into anything, really.
