"I believe you," Athena said.
"You do?" Biff asked, stunned but also relieved.
"I've never heard of a wish note before, but the idea of wishing is familiar."
"So what do we do about it?" Biff asked.
"Nothing. Unless I see the note, you'll probably be stuck this way."
Biff spun around, disgusted. "I can't stay like this!"
"And why not?" Athena asked. "Hey, I know you think you're supposed to be some sort of hotshot jock, but everyone here is going to treat you as though you're not. Why not take advantage of that?"
Biff looked back at her. "Take advantage of it? What the hell are you talking about? I liked being a hotshot jock, as you put it. That was my life. I wanted it to be like that."
"Yeah, well. You better get used to it being like this," Athena said, sourly. While she did believe what he was saying, it was still difficult to imagine Biff Meadows being anything other than the Goth boy he was right now. It was just completely unlike him. It was equally as weird imagining Trevor Blake as anything other than the hotshot jock that he was. She certainly couldn't imagine someone like him being part of the Goth crowd ... or even more, her friend. "Can you show me the note?" she asked, after she gave Biff a moment to fume.
"No, it's been torn up and thrown away."
"Then at least show me where you found it."
"What about Trevor?" Biff asked. "He told me to ..."
"I don't care what Trevor wants you to do. Just show me where you found the note."
Biff looked back over his fishnetted shoulder and saw Trevor talking with someone. Apparently, the former Goth boy had more important things to do than to keep an eye on him and Athena. Biff turned angry. What could be more important than getting back to normal? Maybe Trevor was lying to him about wanting to return things back to the way they were. Trevor was now one of the hottest, most popular guys in school. Who wouldn't want that? Biff grew angrier. That son of a bitch! He's got the perfect life now and he intends to keep it, at Biff's expense. Well, he wasn't going to just stand there and let that freak steal his life from him. He ...
"Come on," Athena said, pulling Biff further down the hall. "Show me where the note was."
Biff turned back around and began to settle down from his sudden anger. The faster he figured out how to return things to normal, the faster he could get his life back. They walked down the hall and then turned the corner and walked down another one, all the way back to the place he found the note.
