the crickets chirped louder than it should, it was starting to tear Jon's hearing apart. Luckily it wasn't long until it weakened out. He could've made a wish for it to go away but he could've made even worse of a mess.. like what Karyn did.. the eerie silence started taking over.
"Bored..", he let out a low breathy word.
he spent an entire day not using the rock.. the sudden worry of messing up so badly got over him.. How much worse had it been him making a mindless wish and the fact that it was irreversible..
turning to the rock, he noticed it to be different.. was it that different of a color since he last opened it from the box? thoughts ran up his head..
he rolled out his bed into the floor, crouching up towards it from the nightstand.. grabbing it before laying out flat on the floor.
Began thinking through what the note said about wishes, they've messed it up the first time. What if its different this time? He started considering his options with this magic item, thinking through the ways to bypass the irreversible quirk.
he looks up to the ceiling.. he never liked the pale gray color they painted the last time they renovated.. had there been a way to select a color on a whim.. "Ahh.. wished it were blue just a few seconds, I wanna see what it would look like.", he absentmindedly spoke.. only realizes then when the rock glow white.. "WAIT!!! WAIT!!", he stood up when the realization kicked in..
just as he had wished for, the ceiling turned blue. it might've connected the thought he had in mind.. but he said it would be until a few seconds.. so he waited.. and waited..
it took its time but after a minute passed, it returned to its natural state.
"wh-WHAT?!!", he exclaimed..
"HEY!! SHUT THE FUCK UP IN THERE!!", a bang from the neighboring room.. Zoe is in her usual mood again..
"That works..", he whispers to himself. something sparked inside him.
he started grabbing a notebook to where his bag was.. a pen from his study desk..
"Alright.. time to list off some wishes.."
he started writing and writing and writing.....
until such time he was content..
"Alright... that took time but it was worth...
he began reading through the lists and made his choice..
