Jen was reclining on one of the deck chairs that was arranged around the pool, letting the sun and warmth of the day dry her off. It felt nice. As Jon, she hadn't known anyone who had a pool. It had been a rare treat to be able to enjoy one. As Jen, it was more or less the norm. She had been a bit spoiled by it. Karyn was sitting in a chair next to her, while the others enjoyed the pool or lounged around and chatted. They seemed to be enjoying it, letting the stress of the earlier conversation slip away.

She wished she could do that as easily. Knowing about the stone, that she had all of that power and what should have been an answer to this whole situation was weighing on her. There had to be some way around the stone's limitation, around Ms. Holloway's magic. If there wasn't, then what was even the point of the stone?

A knocking from the fence broke her from her train of thought. The gate opened, and Biff Meadows, Mike "The Moose" Matthews, and Chris Morgan all walked into the back yard. Biff was Sarah's boyfriend and the Quarterback of the school football team. He had been an occasional bully to Jon, but typically seemed to ignore him. Mike was a linebacker. Big and... not that bright, honestly. Some people joked that he had taken a few too many hits to the head but the truth was he had never been that academically minded, needing to really apply himself to even get Cs in his classes. Chris was the captain of the baseball team, and student council president.

"What are you doing here?" Trinity asked, almost glaring at them. "Pretty sure this was supposed to be a girl's day." Jen raised an eyebrow at her and saw a look flash across her face. Realization of what she had just said, probably.

"Are we not allowed to stop in? Sarah, am I banned from your place?" Biff asked.

"Never, baby," Sarah said, walking over and kissing Biff. When they broke the kiss, she slapped him lightly on the cheek. "But we were having a girls day."

"It's almost dinner time. I figured we could go get something," Biff said. "You weren't feeling up to much yesterday, and were busy all afternoon. I'm starting to get jealous."

Sarah started to say something, but Jade spoke first. "It is getting late. I should probably start heading home anyway."

"Yeah, I don't wanna freak my mom out again," Randi said. "I can give you a ride."

"Weren't trying to scare you ladies off," Biff said. Jen watched as Mike and Chris wandered in the direction of herself and Karyn, leaving Biff to make moves on Sarah. Karyn stood up, preparing to grab her clothes and head off to get changed, when Mike leaned down and kissed her. Jen could see the momentary stiffness as shock overtook her friend, followed by her practically melting into the guy. Mike said something Jen couldn't catch and Karyn whispered back.

"Have a good time today?" Chris asked. Jen turned to look at him and was surprised herself as his lips met hers. Images and memories flashed through her mind of them doing this plenty of times before, that they had started dating a few months ago.

As they broke the kiss, Jen realized she had wrapped her arms around his neck. When had she done that? "Yeah, it was fun," she said.

"Biff's not the only one feeling a bit left out. Want to go get dinner?" Chris asked. Jen bit her lip, wanting to say no, to run home and get the stone and figure out some way to fix all of this.

No, that wasn't right. The Jen part of her really wanted to go have dinner with Chris. The Jon part was the one that wanted to leave. And that part was not winning the mental tug of war. Jen bit her lip for a few seconds, then nodded. "That sounds great." Chris smiled and let Jen go and get changed. Now that things were breaking up more quickly, they decided to use bathrooms inside as well as the pool house. Within a few moments, they were all ready to head out.

Jen was a little uncomfortable, Chris' arm around her shoulders as they walked. She looked up at him and caught his eyes moving from Karyn to her. He had been looking at her chest, which... she couldn't blame him, really. Not when she had those wish enhanced boobs. But... she could feel her irritation growing. Was she not enough for him? Did he wish she was as curvy as Karyn?

She knew guys eyes could wander. Hell, she knew hers did from time to time. Or... Jen's had. Jesus, this whole thing was getting more and more complicated. Chris opened the passenger door for her and she smiled as she climbed in, her thoughts warring within her mind.

We need to figure this out.
