"Hey, guys," Randy said, approaching a couple of his friends: Tom Welles and Danny Foster. "Have you seen Biff?"
The two jocks looked at each other oddly, then looked back at Randy. He seemed eager to know. "Uh ... yeah," Tom said.
"Where?"
Then Danny smiled. "Gonna hit him up for some cash again?"
Randy suddenly looked offended. "No. Biff's a nice guy. Why would I do ..." Then he remembered. Just about ten minutes ago, he did take money from Biff. Forcefully, as he recalled.
"Randy. Man, what's wrong with you?" Tom asked.
"Yeah, when did you start defending that loser?" Danny asked.
"He's not a loser!" Randy yelled. His eyes went wide, at his sudden and unexpected outburst, then he ran away down the hall.
After finding a quiet spot to settle down, he tried to figure out what was happening to him. Biff was a nice guy. Sure, he was a geek. But ... maybe that didn't matter? Randy shook his head, trying to clear out these strange new thoughts. But they didn't go away. He liked Biff. Actually liked him! In fact, he even considered becoming friends with him. Randy thought he'd be disgusted by the idea, but for some reason he wasn't.
