After Mr. Davison finished the forms enabling Trevor to be suspended, he looked up and glared at the Goth boy. "Now, get out of here."
"Whatever," Trevor said, getting up from the chair and leaving the office. Randy followed closely behind.
"What is wrong with you?" Randy asked Trevor, once they were out of the principal's office. "You just got suspended. Don't you care?"
"No. And you shouldn't fucking care either."
"Well, I do," Randy said. "And I'm going to take that second chance he gave me and put all of this Goth stuff behind me."
"I think as long as you're my friend, you won't be able to do that," Trevor said.
"I am not your friend!" Randy yelled, grabbing the attention of both the secretary and Margaret Wood. Although, part of him still thought that he was, no matter how much he denied it. As he settled down, he looked at Trevor with friendly eyes. How could he drop out of the Goth crowd now? Trevor needed his friendship now more than ever.
Randy shook his head, trying to clear it. What was he thinking? Trevor wasn't his friend. None of the Goths were his friends. He wasn't Goth. He may have looked like one, but he wasn't one. He grabbed his head in frustration. He tried his best to hang on to who he was. But the more time that passed, the more difficult it became.
"Feeling a little confused?" Trevor asked.
Randy turned and looked at Trevor.
"You are my friend, Randy. My best friend." He paused for a moment, then added "And the best thing you could do for me is to stay by my side. You should march back into that office and tell that fucking asshole that you want to stay Goth, even if he expels you for it."
