Yukio looked over her shoulder and saw (with relief) that Zach wasn't following her, unlike what Jessica had done earlier. Thinking that everything might slow down and get back to some resemblance of normal, Yukio calmly walked down the hall to her first class.

But after she turned a corner, she saw a guy named Derek Lettman. Even Yukio knew Derek's reputation as a womanizer. She wasn't sure, but she had the feeling that he had slept with half the girls in school ... at least twice. But that's why they called him "The Stud".

She was about to steer clear of him, but suddenly her "evil" self reasserted itself. Why was that happening? She wasn't trying to contact Melissa again. Was her other persona starting to assert itself at random now?

What Yukio or anyone else didn't know was that the magic of the wish sticky (that particular one, the one that both Melissa and Steve read) kept the ones affected by the wish from interacting with each other ... in their previous state of mind. So whenever Yukio was around Derek, Steve or Melissa, she would become "evil" Yukio, totally against her will. It was a way of forcing them to deal with their situation and not try to "fix" it.
