Derek Lettman was completely confused as he walked away from the guy that kind of looked like Steve Farber. It wasn't until he was down the hall that the overblown sense of self-importance and everything that came with it finally faded, leaving behind the person he'd always been.
He didn't understand any of this. He had been leaving the boys' restroom when suddenly, everything went woozy and he came to like this. He'd started walking, confused, feeling stronger than normal, when suddenly he spotted the "different Steve". And ... for a few moments there, he'd been some other version of himself.
This version had grown up in a well-to-do family with a number of friends and even more girlfriends. And he was popular, something Derek never was. He had ripped into the other Steve for daring to dress and live his life differently than everyone else. It was disturbing, especially since it was exactly how Steve used to treat him. But at the same time, it felt good. Part of him almost wanted to go find this other Steve and do it again.
But he had no idea what was going on ... or why. Or even who to trust.
