Suddenly, Athena regretted what happened. Non-Goths probably wouldn't see the problem, but devil worshipers were a little too "hardcore" for Athena. (The sacrificial rituals, cutting flesh, all that blood. Athena wasn't into that.) Which was why she made it a point to stay away from them, whenever they cropped up. But there was apparently no way to get away from this one.
Athena shook her head. It was so strange to even imagine Nadine as a devil worshiper. It was the complete opposite of what she was. It would take some getting used to.
"Athena, you look worried. What's wrong?" Nadine asked.
Athena suddenly remembered something about how the note worked. Anyone not associated with the wish thought that the new Nadine normal. And what? Were Athena and Nadine supposed to be friends as well? She wasn't sure she liked this turn of events.
"Listen, I know you've changed, that you're more like me now ..."
Nadine smiled. It was a devious smile. "And I'm glad for that."
"But, I don't think we should be friends."
Nadine's smile faded away.
Athena started to worry again. Maybe telling her this wasn't the best idea. Who knew how she would react?
