As Athena walked to her locker to gather her stuff for her first period class, she saw a small group of Goths huddled around each other. She recognized them as Sabrina Johnson, Stephanie Wright, and Trevor Blake. They used to be her friends, but now she couldn't stand the sight of them. "Heathens," she hissed at them.

She turned and continued her way to her locker, and that's when she met Tina Shepard. She was one of Nadine's closest friends, which meant that she was now one of Athena's closest friends.

"Hi, Athena," she said. "Remember, we're having after-school bible study today."

"Uh ... yeah."

"You are coming, right?" Tina asked.

"Of course." Athena had never been to a bible study in her life, but she knew that going to one was the right thing to do. And besides, she would be surrounded by people just like her. After being forced to go to school with Goths, sluts, and other sinners, it would be a great relief.

"Good." Tina looked like she was about to walk away, but she stopped. Her lips curled with disgust at the sight of Trevor Blake walking past them. He was dressed in his usual get-up: a fishnet shirt, a black leather skirt, and black boots. "I can't believe the school allows freaks like him to attend. You know, someone should do something about it."

"I totally agree," Athena said. She felt strange saying that, but it was exactly how she felt. Those sinners shouldn't have even been allowed into the school, but what could she do about it? She had a feeling that the school wouldn't take her seriously. When it came to religious matters, they rarely did. She got that much from watching Nadine's futile attempts.

"See you later," Tina said, breaking Athena out of her thoughts.
