"It was right here," Nadine said, standing near an intersection of two hallways. "I remember this trash can." She pointed at it.
"Those trash cans are all over the school," Athena said.
Nadine glared at her. Why was that witch girl even there? She wasn't being helpful at all. Was she enjoying all of this? Getting a kick out of seeing the local religious girl being forced to dress like a pagan? Well, it wasn't funny.
"Sorry," Athena said. "But if the note was here, where is it?"
Nadine looked around on the floor. A yellow note shouldn't have been too difficult to see on a gray floor.
"Hey, watch out!" Athena suddenly yelled.
"What?" Nadine said, annoyed, right before bumping heads with a boy. "Ow!" she yelled out, in pain. "Watch where you're going!" She looked at him and immediately recognized who it was. It was Biff Meadows, a geek boy.
"Are you okay?" Athena asked.
Nadine looked up at her and glared again. "Your concern is touching." Then she turned back to Biff. "Why the heck are you crawling around down here?" The word HECK was one of Nadine's more profane words.
"I'm looking for a yellow note. Have you seen one?" Biff asked.
Nadine and Athena looked at each other with wide eyes.
