Suddenly, Jon heard a strange noise coming from his bed; the first few seconds of a song from Coldplay, one of the 'trendy' bands he'd always disliked. He saw an unfamiliar cell phone, a light blue Razr, another thing Jon wasn't particularly fond of. Jon picked up the phone, flipping it open to see a very flirty picture of Karyn. One she'd probably never have let Jon see. "Hello?" He said.
"Hey, girl." Karyn answered, giggling, and Jon sighed. The world seemed to be conspiring to drill his new gender into his head. "What's up?"
"Karyn, I'm glad you called. You need to come over, right now."
"What? Why?" His friend's voice answered, confused.
"Just come. I'll explain when you get here." He hung up, sitting on his bed and waiting. Moments later, the doorbell rang and the door opened; Karyn had a key, and lived right next door anyway, but she insisted on ringing it.
"What's wrong?" Karyn asked immediately upon coming into the room. In response, Jon pulled his pants down, and pointed to his crotch.
"This." His face had never felt hotter as he bared his new vagina to his best friend, but she looked at it like nothing was wrong.
"Yeah, so what? You're really a girl, but you've had a hell of a time developing. It's a hormone thing. You explained this a couple of years ago when your figure didn't really fit with dresses anymore, and makeup couldn't help your face." Karyn shrugged.
"No, it's a wish Mikey made... sort of. He wished up a pad of sticky notes that he can write wishes on, and one wish was for me and Zoe to switch parts." He pointed again to his crotch, as if to drive the point home.
"But Zoe's always looked like a girl, even though he's got a pretty nice package." Karyn smiled, and Jon blushed once again. Really? Wait, when has she seen it? "Well, whatever, I'll play along. I suppose it could be true. Where's the stone now?"
"My mom took it away! I need your help getting it back. Maybe we can figure out a way to make everything right, before it's too late. If my hormones really start affecting me it'll be tricky making me look completely male again. Same for Zoe." Karyn shrugged again, still clearly not believing him.
"Alright, how are we gonna get it back? Do you even know where your mom has it?"
"No... that's the toughest part. I think she'd have it somewhere in her room." Jon looked over at the door, wondering what to do. Look around? Mom would expect it. It wasn't the first time he'd had something taken away. All he could do for now is wait - after he pulled his pants back up.
