Benny came home feeling new, and so happy that even Jenny's questions about when he'd be a girl couldn't bother him. "Gettin' around to it, sis." He replied, and Jenny grinned, cheering to herself and hugging him.
"You're awfully happy tonight, dear." Mom smiled at him from the couch, her attention drawn from the TV. "Yeah, mom. I don't really wanna be a..." He choked up, barely able to finish the next word, "...a girl, but it's not like I can't still be me. I realized that while I was out."
His mom just about ran over to him, pulling him into a tight hug. "I'm so happy for you, Benny. I'll always love you as my child, whether you're my son or my daughter. I hope you know that. Your father feels exactly the same way."
"Yeah... I know. I love you too." Jenny chimed in, hugging them both as much as she could. "I do too, Benny! Hey, can I name you when you're my big sister?"
Benny could only laugh and hug her back. "Yeah, I guess so."
